Julie Bélisle

Me Julie Bélisle holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B., 2010), as well as a master’s in Law and Health Policy (LL.M., 2016) awarded by the University of Sherbrooke. As part of her studies, she was awarded the “Prix du Barreau du Québec”, the “Prix du Fonds Chénier-Picard”, as well as a scholarship from the continuing education program in  “droit et politiques de la santé des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC)”.

In 2013, she was admitted to the law profession with the Barreau du Québec after completing her internship in an international firm specialized in litigation, business law, intellectual property, and labour and employment law. She then joined the Ménard Martin Avocats firm in 2013, where she developed a great affection for the defence of users of the health care system, victims of medical errors. From that moment, Me Bélisle concentrated all of her practice in medical and hospital liability, health law and personal injury. She also practises in disability and accident insurance, as well as in legal psychiatry and in protective supervision of persons or for the homologation of protective mandates.

In order to improve her knowledge in pleading and questioning witnesses, Me Bélisle participated in the intensive continuing education week entitled Seminar on advocacy techniques with the Barreau du Québec.

Ms. Bélisle is also a lecturer at the University of Montréal, where she communicates her passion for health law. She is also called upon to give lectures or to collaborate in the writing of reference books.
