Me Ferré Deslongchamps has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 2012 and, in the same year, obtained a master’s degree in health law and policy. Since then, her practice focuses on health law and the defence of the rights of users of the health care system. She works mainly in medical, hospital, dental and pharmaceutical liability, in addition to managing disability insurance cases.

In recent years, Me Ferré Deslongchamps has been called upon to act, for the applicant, in the context of major class actions in Québec. For example, she was involved in the class action brought against the Centre hospitalier du Suroît in connection with the abuse of restraint and isolation measures.  She was also involved in the class action brought against the Rivière-des-Prairies Hospital in connection with the mistreatment inflicted on users of the establishment as well as in the collective action  against the Public Health, the Ministry of Health and the Québec Union Central, in connection with the outbreak of Legionellosis that occurred in Québec in the summer of 2012.

Me Ferré Deslongchamps has also represented and advised various community organizations engaged in defending the rights of users of the health care system and vulnerable people.

In 2012 and 2013, Me Ferré Deslonchamps worked in concert with the committee of legal experts appointed by the Government of Québec following the report of the Special Parliamentary Commission on the question of dying with dignity. As part of this mandate, she collaborated in the drafting of the report on the implementation of the legal framework for medical assistance in dying with dignity.

In 2016, she acted as an intervenor with the working group on the practice of aesthetic medicine set up by the Collège des Médecins du Québec. In particular, the working group was to define the aesthetic medicine activities that required the improvement or establishment of a framework aimed at ensuring public protection and suggesting the forms of supervision required.

For the past few years, Me Ferré Deslongchamps has provided training for students at the University of Montréal in a mock trial in health law.
