Named since 2016 by his peers in “Lexpert” magazine as being a leader in the field of medical liability, Me Leroux has 15 years of experience as a lawyer specializing in this field.
In addition to having piloted hundreds of medical liability cases, Me Leroux had the opportunity to be involved in various collective actions in the health field such at the collective action brought to denounce the abuse of restraint and isolation measures at the “Centre hospitalier du Suroît,” the collective action brought to denounce the sectorization in mental health as well as the collective action brought against the clinics “Zéro Gravité”.
In winter 2019, Mr. Leroux acted as co-counsel in the highly publicized Gladu / Truchon trial. Mr. Leroux represented two citizens who succeeded to invalidate the provisions of the Criminal Code which conditioned access to medical assistance in dying to the fact of being at the end of life.
Me Leroux regularly acts as a speaker in continuing education activities for health professionals and lawyers. He collaborated to provide training for several years in the micro-program on “médecine d’assurance et d’expertise” at the University of Montréal. He also collaborates and provides training in the wound care micro-program at Sherbrooke University. Me Leroux also gives lectures for organizations defending the rights of users and the general public.
